Quick & Easy SEO Wins to Improve Your Website

Optimizing your website to rank higher in search engines can pay major dividends in the long run. While working with a team of experts can significantly increase your website’s SEO, there are quick and easy wins you can score today that can help get you on the right track.

Quick & Easy SEO Wins to Improve Your Website

1. Optimize Title Tags

Title tags (or meta titles) are how links to your website will appear on a search engine results page (SERP). If these are not clear and catchy, you may risk losing a click from someone who might be interested in your products and services. An optimized title tag will include relevant keywords that explain what a reader can find on that page and the name of your business. Ideally, this will be around 50-60 characters to ensure that the entire tag is visible.

2. Don’t Forget Meta Descriptions

The little snippet of text that appears beneath your title tags in SERP? Those are meta descriptions, and they support the meta titles by including additional context. An ideal meta description will come in around 150 characters, incorporate relevant keywords, and include a call to action that encourages the reader to dig in.

3. If It’s Broke, Fix It

Broken links can negatively impact SEO by disrupting the user experience, and it can impact how well your website ranks in SERP. If you have a smaller sitemap, you can manually check each page to ensure that everything goes where it should. Looking to save some time and make your SEO win even quicker? Try a tool like Ahrefs’ Broken Link Checker, which will quickly identify any broken links on your website.

4. Improve Page Speed

A slow-loading website can be a deal-breaker for potential customers (not to mention a drag on SEO). One of the best ways to improve page speed is to resize images so that they’re smaller and load faster. You can do this with a tool like TinyPNG or Squoosh, which lowers the file size without sacrificing the integrity of the image. And while you’re at it, be sure to add descriptive alt text to your images to score another quick SEO win that’ll help your site rank better.
