Tips for Refreshing Content & Improving SEO

For so many, the start of a new year represents the promise of a fresh start and a clean slate. When it comes to your chiropractic practice’s website, it’s an ideal opportunity to evaluate what you can do better to rank higher. Following some straightforward steps for refreshing content can help revitalize your SEO efforts, ensure that you’re meeting current SEO best practices, and potentially bring new customers to your door in 2026.

Tips for Refreshing Content & Improving SEO in 2026

Take Stock of Your Existing Content

Get an overview of how your website performed in 2025 with the help of tools like Google Search Console. Through GSC, you can check out critical metrics like clicks, impressions, click-through rate (CTR), average position in Google Search, and the most successful queries. You can also leverage tools like Google Analytics to see things like the average time that users spent on each page, bounce rate, and the total number of page views. With all of this in mind, you can identify the pages and content that performed well and where there’s room for improvement.

What Pages and Blogs to Target

Once you’ve gathered your data, you’ll be able to determine the content that could use a refresh to drive better SEO results. Among other things, you’ll be looking for:

  • Pages that performed well in terms of impressions but didn’t quite live up to their potential for clicks and CTR
  • Pages that have the potential to break onto page one of Google Search (e.g., holding an average position between 11-20)
  • Pages that have performed well consistently in the past but saw lower clicks, impressions, etc. over the previous 12 months
  • Pages that perform well but feature outdated information
  • Pages that perform well but are not optimized per current SEO best practices

How to Refresh Content on Your Website

And now that you’ve identified ideal pages for your content refresh, you can put your plan into motion. For starters, you’ll want to make sure that each page and blog has:

  • Metadata that follows SEO best practices
    • Title tags around 60-65 characters
    • Meta descriptions around 150 characters
  • Working links, both internal and external
  • At least one hero image with alt text
  • Informative subheadings

In terms of the content on-page, you can take steps to update things to be more accurate and/or informative. For example, adding an FAQ to a page on a key service or product can help pull in more users by matching question-style queries and increase time on page. You’ll also want to make sure that the content is up to date in terms of industry knowledge and matches the tone and presentation you want from your brand story.

You don’t have to start from scratch if you want your chiropractic website to deliver results. Work with our team of professionals to get a high-level view of your digital presence via an SEO audit, create a data-backed SEO content strategy, and bring your website and social media to current in 2026.
