The Importance of Sharing Advice for Other Women in Business
As a woman business owner, there have been many takeaways throughout my decade of agency management. However, even before that, I learned plenty about what it means to be a woman in marketing.
Tips I Wish I Had When First Entering The Marketing World
Everyone’s experience in marketing will be a little bit different, but there are some things I’ve found to be common when speaking to other marketers and/or women business owners.
- Overcoming Imposter Syndrome. As far as I’m aware, we all experience imposter syndrome at some time or another. It can really set you back if you let it get the best of you. Just remind yourself that everyone is figuring things out as they go. If that reminder is not enough to snap you out of it, get yourself a copy of “Everything Is Figureoutable” by Marie Forleo. It will do wonders!
- Work on your mindset. As with your physical wellbeing, your mental wellbeing plays a huge part in your ability to succeed. If you’re drowning in deadlines, out of creative ideas, etc., working on your headspace will help you reset and do better work than you would have otherwise. Go get yourself a copy of “Talking to Yourself Is Not Crazy” by Dr. Larry Markson. I may be biased as he is a client of mine, but this book has changed several people’s lives.
- Ask for help. There are more than likely other people who have been through something like what you’re struggling with or working toward. Find those people and ask for their help. More often than not, people are going to want to lend a helping hand or piece of advice to get you where you’re trying to go. If you want my help specifically, I’d love to chat.
